The Balonne River
The Balonne River The Balonne River provides a natural edge to the town of St George and is the perfect spot to relax for a day. With multiple parks and toilet facilities, as well as tables and barbeques it is the perfect for a picnic. There is a chance of spotting koalas along the river and birdlife is very active, fishing is also allowed. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, waterskiing, jet skiing and canoeing are all allowed on the water. There is also a pathway that runs for approximately 2km long the river.

History of Cotton Mural
The Cotton Mural, which depicts the history of cotton in the St George area, was sponsored by the St George Cotton Growers Association. It features Jack Taylor Weir as the vital component in the beginnings of the St George cotton industry. It is located on the wall of the Ambulance Station on the corner of Balonne and Victoria Streets.

History of Transport Mural
The History of Transport Mural features three separate scenes of past transport in the Balonne Shire. The first scene titled "Racing the Storms" is of the Yuleba to St George Cobb & Co. Coach racing a fierce storm. The second scene, "Crossing the Balonne" features a bullock team crossing the Balonne River. The third is a scene of a family heading into town for the sales, and is titled "To the Sales." The mural is 13.2 meters long and 2.7 meters high and was painted by Peter Caporn. It is located on the fence beside the BP Service Station on the corner of Scott and Victoria Streets.

St George Pilots Memorial
St George Pilots Memorial Opposite the Visitor Information Centre on The Terrace, the Pilots Memorial is in recognition of two local pilots who flew in World War Two. The first, Squadron Leader John Jackson, is the only known Australian Pilot to have a foreign international airport named after him. Jackson flew at Moresby and was killed there in 1942. The second, Warrant Officer Leonard Waters, is recognised as the only known Aboriginal Fighter pilot to serve in World War Two.

The Heritage Centre
The Heritage Centre The Heritage Centre is a local community project, and the buildings have been moved there from other locations within the town. Many extensions have been added including the blacksmith shop. The centre has a collection of items that reflects the life and times of our forefathers including local aboriginal artefacts. The Unique Egg
The Unique Egg is a collection of hand carved illuminated emu eggs. The collection is housed in a back room of the Balonne Sports Store in Victoria Street. Steve Margaritus now has over 150 carved emu eggs on display at the Unique Egg Gallery.

Riversands Vineyards is located on the banks of the Balonne River and is Queensland's most western winery. The friendly staff will guide you through the nine different wines, liqueurs and ports available with a free wine tasting.
