St George, QLD — Guests at the Merino Motor Inn can now gather under the outback stars in style, thanks to the addition of a brand-new fire pit area designed for comfort, atmosphere, and connection.

Owners Jono and Tam say the new space was created to give guests a place to unwind, share stories, and enjoy the unique beauty of a St George evening.

“There’s something special about sitting around a fire,” Tam said. “It’s warm, it’s relaxing, and it naturally brings people together. We wanted to give our guests that experience, whether they’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with friends and family.”

The fire pit area features comfortable seating, ambient lighting, and a safe, modern design that makes it easy to enjoy a flickering fire on cooler evenings. It’s open to all motel guests and is perfect for everything from toasting marshmallows to enjoying a quiet nightcap.

Jono says it’s already proving popular. “We’ve seen guests chatting with each other like old friends, swapping travel tips, and just soaking in the atmosphere. It’s become a real social hub for the inn.”

The fire pit is the latest in a series of upgrades at the Merino Motor Inn, following the installation of luxurious pillow-top beds, super-fast Wi-Fi, huge OLED “Safe Casting” TVs, a resurfaced pool, a new commercial guest laundry, and an updated restaurant menu.
